Storage Tanks & Silos
Welded steel tanks and silos for bulk storage — process, buffer or product storage, designed to your material.
Lozzar Process supplies fabricated steel storage tanks and silos for process plants, material handling systems, and product storage applications. Tank designs range from small buffer vessels (1–10 m³) to large flat-bottom atmospheric storage tanks (up to 5,000 m³) and cylindrical silos for bulk solids. All vessels are fabricated to the relevant EN standards and supplied with CE marking and material test certificates.
Tank and Silo Types
Flat-bottom storage tanks are the standard for large-volume liquid storage. They consist of a cylindrical shell welded to a flat or slightly conical bottom plate, with a fixed or floating roof. Designed to EN 14015 for above-ground storage of non-pressurised liquids (water, chemicals, process liquids, sludges). Typical capacity 50–5,000 m³.
Cone-bottom tanks (hopper-bottom tanks) are used for bulk solids and powders where complete discharge is required. The conical bottom allows gravity flow to a central discharge nozzle. Cone half-angle is 30–60° depending on the bulk solid's angle of repose. Used as day bins, product hoppers, and intermediate storage vessels in dryer and granulation plants.
Cylindrical silos for bulk solids are used for large-volume storage of grains, pellets, fertilisers, minerals and other free-flowing bulk materials. They may have flat roofs (with a central manway) or conical discharge bottoms. External stiffening rings or corrugated shells are used for thin-wall silo construction.
All pressure vessels (operating above 0.5 bar gauge) are designed to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and EN 13445.
