Mixer type granulators perform granulation and agglomeration processes using a mechanical mixing method. Various designs of mixer granulators have been developed for different products. The design of the mixer granulator is determined by taking into account the raw material and the desired final product properties.
The binder liquid selected for granulation is sprayed through a spray nozzle placed above the mixing area, enabling agglomeration. By controlling the liquid-solid phase ratio, as well as the speed and duration of mixing, the desired size and density of the final granule product can be achieved.
Compared to traditional granulation technologies, mixer type granulators can significantly reduce the amount of binder used, thereby optimizing the drying time. In this granulation process, the character of the granule product is homogeneous, and the system is suitable for high-efficiency operation.
Advantages:
- Adjustable contact time between binders and product
- High product yield
- Suitable for heat-sensitive products
- Reduces drying requirements
- Energy saving
- Easy operation and maintenance
